What is the fee for services?

There is no fee for classes with The Rachelle Center.  This project is possible through a grant from The Walton Family Foundation so as to enable all families to attend.

I’m a service provider, teacher or therapist.  May I attend the classes?

Currently these classes are for parents and caregivers only; please reach out via our contact page if you or your organization would like to discuss training opportunities.

Will The Rachelle Center attend personal meetings with me?

The Rachelle Center will train you to be a better advocate for your child.  Additionally, The Rachelle Center plans to train a cadre of support fellows who can attend meetings in support.  Those interested in becoming a support fellow should email kendra@wholechildcollaborative.org

What will I be trained on in these classes?

Join us as we go in depth on:

  • Special Education law and procedure

  • Advocacy Best Practices - How do i ask for what I need?

  • Timelines and terminology

  • Assessments, evaluations

  • School, district, and state practice

What is an advocate?

Someone who researches, plans, and prepares to negotiate on behalf of another.  The Rachelle Center will train YOU to be an advocate on behalf of your child!

Who should attend these trainings/classes?

These trainings are for parents and caregivers of students who want to understand the special education process and who want to sharpen their advocacy skills.
